How Does Commission Work at Webster Arts?
For many artists, having their artwork accepted to a show and on display in a gallery is exciting news. Even better? If their artwork is sold! Artists should be aware that Webster Arts takes a 30% commission on all gallery sales – this includes juried exhibits in the gallery and Small Works, as well as consigned items for markets. We recommend that artists price their artwork with this in mind. Webster Arts will endeavor to transmit payment to the artist as soon as possible.
Webster Arts also charges local sales tax on all artwork (as of October 2025, sales tax in Webster Groves, MO is 9.238%) and handles the payment of collected tax.
