Lyle Seddon

Today's Member Spotlight features Lyle Seddon. Having recently taken up painting in 2021, Lyle's artwork shows the strong influence of plein air and naturalist styles.

"Painting is an adventure. You never quite know where it will lead. Filled with hills and valleys, light and dark, joy and wonder. Seeking to represent a feeling, a thought, a moment in time. Open to interpretation and bringing meaning to those that see it that may remind them of a time or place from their own experience.

I am currently Treasurer of the Heartland Art Club. I also paint whenever I can with MOPAPA (Missouri Plein Air Painters Association). My most recent juried show was the St Louis Artists Guild in Fall 2024. I have taken quite a few workshops and classes, as I’m always interested in more education.

I grew up riding horses and currently volunteer with an equine therapy program. I love to paint barns!"
